Das Vaterunser mal anders - The Lord's Prayer in a different way

Also, worum geht's?"
"GEHEILIGT WERDE DEIN NAME..."
"Meinst du das ernst?"
"Was soll ich ernst meinen?"
"Ob du meinen Namen wirklich heiligen willst. Was bedeutet das denn?"
"Aha. Hmm. Ja, das versteh ich. DEIN REICH KOMME. DEIN WILLE GESCHEHE, WIE IM HIMMEL SO AUF ERDEN..."
"Tust du was dafür?"
"Entschuldige!

"Ich will dich heilen.
"Du kennst doch deine schwachen Punkte: Unverbindlichkeit, Finanzverhalten, Sexualität, Aggression, Erziehung.
AMEN."
"Weißt du, was ich herrlich finde?

Do you remember my article "Fake Jesus" ?
When I consider about the things that are said in the video, I remembered the Lord's Prayer. How often do we pray at the service? ... because it's a part of it. But do we honestly mean what we are praying? Do we really want that Gods will will happen? Or more my own will? And then I also remembered a dialogue with God.

"OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN..."
"Yes."
"Don't disturb me. I am praying."
"But you called me."
"Me? Calling you? Err, no, not really. But we pray like this: Our father in heaven."
"See, you did it again. You are calling me to start a conversation with me, right? So what do you want?"
"HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME..."
"Do you mean that seriously?"
"What should I be serious?"
"Whether you really want my name be hallowed. What does that mean?"
"It means... it means... My godness, I don't know what that means. How should I know?"
"It means that you will honor me, that I am uniquely important to you, that my name is precious to you."
"I see. Well... Yes, I understand this. YOUR KINGDOM COME, YOUR WILL E DONE, ON EARTH AS IN HEAVEN..."
"What are you doing for this?"
"That your will be done? Sure! I go regularly to church, I pay church tax and alms."
"I want more: that your life will be alright, that your habits with which you annoy others will disappear, that you starts learning by and for others, that everyone will be saved and that they will get to know the truth - even your neighbor and your classmates. I want that invalids get healed, that the hungry will get fed, that the bereaved will get comforted and that prisoners will get free. Because everything you are doing for these people, you are doing to me."
"Why do you reproach me with this? What do you think how many rich ass hypocrites are in church? Look at them."
"Sorry, I thought you are really praying that my kingdom will come and that my will be done. Because that starts personally with the one that is praying."
"Can I continue praying? GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD."
"Man, you've thrown half a cake into the trash just a few minutes ago. Your request also contains the responsibility to do something for millions of hungry people in the world so they can get their daily bread."
"FORGIVE US OUR SINS, AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO SIN AGAINST US."
"And Laura?"
"Laura? Don't start talking about her. You know that she blamed me infront of all people. And that she is so arrogant to me all the time, so I am already mad before she starts with her dismissive comments. And she also knows that. She never takes me really serious. She walks all over me. This..."
"I know, I know. And what about your prayer?"
"I didn't mean what I said."
"At least you are honest. Is it fun to walk around with so much bitterness and antipathy inside you?"
"No, it makes me sick."
"I want to heal you. Forgive Laura, and I forgive you. And then arogance and hate is Laura's sin and not yours. Maybe you lose money, for sure a bit of your image. But it will bring peace to your heart."
"Well, I don't know if I can overcome myself."
"I will help you."
"SAVE US FROM THE TIME OF TRIAL AND DELIVER US FROM EVIL..."
"Nothing more than that. Avoid people or situations by which you are tempted."
"What do you mean?"
"You do know your weak points: commitment, your dealing with money, sexuality, aggression, education. Don't give evil a chance."
"I think this is the most difficult Lord's Prayer I've ever prayed. But for the first time it has something to do with my daily life."
"Great. We advance. So finish your prayer."
"FOR THE KINGDOM, THE POWER, AND THE GLORY ARE YOURS NOW AND FOR EVER. AMEN."
"Do you know what I love? When people like you start to take me serious, pray honestly, follow me and do my will. And when they realize that their acting for my kingdom makes them happy."

Lass mich wieder spüren, dass ich noch am Leben bin - Let me feel again that I'm still alive

Do you also know that sometimes that you feel empty, drained, unmotivated and unemotional?

You'll be asked how you are and your answer is "Yes, fine." But actually it's a lie because you're not doing fine. To be honest, you don't really know how you feel, how you are.

You're too tired to cry and to unmotivated to laugh. You just feel empty. And you even can't understand yourself. What's wrong with you?

You'd like to change something but you don't know how. But you are so powerless.

You even haven't enought power to believe, to pray and you beg to God: "Let me feel again that I am alive, want to believe again, no matter if I lay on the ground."

I know that feeling. Sometimes life goes that way, so you feel empty and exhausted. Totally unmotivated. And you'd prefer staying in bed and pull the cover over your head.

But that won't make it any better.

You just fall deeper in this deep hole.

There's no patent medicine to find out of that hole. Many ways can lead out from such a depth: friends, senses of achievements, faith in God.

Don't droop and be blessed! There's a way to get out!

Gott ist... - God is...

Also gut, Gott, ich hätte gerne... hmm... lass mal überlegen?

Au-Pair. FSJ. Oder Missionshelfer. Egal was, Hauptsache in das Land meiner Träume.

... (not) a wish machine.

Have you ever heard that sentence regarding prayers: "God isn't a wish machine!"

But the Bible says we can come to God with allour sorrows. With everything that's on our mind, that oppresses us and concerns us.

Well, God, I want... let me think... A hot rod. A jackpot. A super beautiful wife / a powerful and empathetic husband. A big house. And some other stuff...

And then that admonishment "But God isn't a wish machine!"

But what is a wish machine? In my imagination it is a machine where I drop my wish list in, press the button and receive my wish promtly. Or something like a jinn. Only rubbing the magic lantern and *bang* my dream came true.

But I can remember that in most of the animated cartoons with magic lanterns and jinns, something went wrong. The wish didn't came true the way one expected because you expressed it the wrong way. Or the jinn did what he wanted.

I don't think God is a wish machine.

Sure, I can, I am allowed and I should bring my wished to God. But most of the time we tell God how the make our wishes, our dreams come true.

I already experienced that I was disappointed that God didn't sct the way I expected. But it was a blessing in disguise. It came much better. And sometimes you need to make a detour to reach your goals.

I had the wish to go for a certain time in a foreign country. Best, right after school. Au-Apir. Voluntary work. No matter what as long as it is in the country of my dreams. Unfortunately it didn't work right after finishing school. But I didn't forsake my dream. And a few years later, making some detour, it worked. I often prayed for me dream and I'm sure I also annoyed him much. But I was happy the way it came. I'm so thankful to God. My wish came true but in a different way I planned.

God is like this. He makes wishes come true. Sometimes in time and sometimes later. But he never forgets you!

Gott ist... - God is...

Und dann, sei gespannt, was Gott dir sagen und zeigen will!

... deaf.
Is God really deaf?
Sometimes he's really hard in hearing our prayers, isn't he?
So it seems to us sometimes. We pray and tell God what's on our heart.
"Be constant in prayer" you can can find in the Bible. Why? Because God is deaf and hard in hearing our prayers at the first time? Or for he's realizing how important our prayers are to us? Or do we need to pray louder so he's hearing us?
"Dear God, give me a Playstation, but the latest, please", little Carl's shouting in his evening prayer. "You don't need to shout when praying," his sister is calling him to a silent devotion, "God will even hear you without shouting." "I know," the brother whispered, "but granny is deaf."
God's our "father", he is all knowing and the Almighty - he should know how important our prayers are to us.
In Isaiah 65:24 you can read "Before they call I will answer, while they are still speaking I will hear."
So when God's hearing our prayers before we spoke them, what's the reason why it seems like God's deaf?
Is it us? Do we listen when he's speaking? Do you remember when mom said something when we were younger and we just heard the things we want to hear? Maybe it's a similar thing.
Sometimes it's the way our ears aren't open for God's speaking.
Everyday many voices are surrounding us: Internet, TV, music, the daily lunacy,...
Sometimes we don't take time or we don't have enough discipline.
We should take time to spend time with God and to hear his voice!
But how's God speaking?
God has many ways to communicate with us.
Eliah (1. Kings 19) met God on the mountain Horeb not in a storm oder an earthquake, but in a silent sough. We live in a loud world and forget in some way to hear the silent sounds.
Mostly God's not shouting with a megaphone to us, but gentle and in silent sounds. God is creative. Sometimes he used thoughts to communicate with us or Bible verses or a sermon or pictures.
Take time for God. Turn off the music or go outside to a silent place. Und then be curious what God wants to say to you and what he wants to show you.
