Ist Gott wirklich schwerhörig?
Manchmal tut er sich doch wirklich schwer damit, unsere Gebete zu erhören, oder?
So kommt es uns zumindest oft vor. Wir beten und erzählen Gott, was uns auf dem Herzen liegt.
"Seid beharrlich im Gebet" steht in der Bibel. Warum? Weil Gott schwerhörig ist und uns beim ersten Beten nicht gleich hört? Oder damit er merkt, wie wichtig uns unsere Anliegen sind? Oder müssen wir einfach nur lauter beten, damit er uns hört?
"Lieber Gott schenke mir eine Playstation, das neue Modell", brüllt Karlchen im Abendgebet. "Du musst nicht so schreien beim Beten" ruft ihn seine Schwester zur stillen Andacht, "Gott hört dich auch so." "Das weiß ich", flüstert der Bruder, "aber Oma ist schwerhörig."
Gott ist ja unser "Vater", er ist allwissend und der Allmächtige - er sollte doch wissen, wie wichtig uns unsere Anliegen sind.
In Jesaja 65, 24 steht: "Es soll geschehen; ehe sie rufen, will ich antworten; wenn sie noch reden, will ich hören."
Wenn also Gott unsere Gebet schon erhört, bevor wir sie überhaupt ausgesprochen haben, woran liegt es dann, dass es uns so vorkommt, als wäre Gott schwerhörig?
Liegt es vielleicht doch an uns selber? Hören wir ihm überhaupt zu, wenn er mit uns spricht? Oder ist es wie bei Mutti früher, dass wir nur das hörten, was wir hören wollten?
Manchmal ist es doch wirklich so, dass unsere Ohren gar nicht offen sind für Gottes Reden.
Uns umgeben täglich viele Stimmen, die uns beeinflussen und auf uns einströmen: Internet, Fernsehen, Musik, der alltägliche Wahnsinn,... Manchmal mangelt es uns an Zeit und Disziplin.
Wir sollten uns mehr Zeit nehmen, um Zeit mit Gott zu verbringen und auf sein Wort zu hören!
Wie spricht Gott eigentlich zu uns?
Gott hat viele Möglichkeiten, um mit uns zu kommunizieren.
Dem Elia (1. Könige 19) begegnete Gott auf dem Berg Horeb nicht in einem gewaltigen Sturm oder Erdbeben, sondern in einem stillen Sausen. Wir leben in einer lauten Welt und haben teilweise verlernt diese leisen Töne zu hören.
Meistens schreit Gott nicht mit einem Megafon zu uns, sondern sanft und in leisen Tönen. Gott ist kreativ. Manchmal benutzt er Gedanken, um mit uns zu kommunizieren, oder Bibelstellen, eine Predigt oder Bilder.
Nimm dir Zeit für Gott. Mach mal die Musik aus oder geh raus in die Natur an einen stillen Ort. Und dann, sei gespannt, was Gott dir sagen und zeigen will!

Is God really deaf?
Sometimes he's really hard in hearing our prayers, isn't he?
So it seems to us sometimes. We pray and tell God what's on our heart.
"Be constant in prayer" you can can find in the Bible. Why? Because God is deaf and hard in hearing our prayers at the first time? Or for he's realizing how important our prayers are to us? Or do we need to pray louder so he's hearing us?
"Dear God, give me a Playstation, but the latest, please", little Carl's shouting in his evening prayer. "You don't need to shout when praying," his sister is calling him to a silent devotion, "God will even hear you without shouting." "I know," the brother whispered, "but granny is deaf."
God's our "father", he is all knowing and the Almighty - he should know how important our prayers are to us.
In Isaiah 65:24 you can read "Before they call I will answer, while they are still speaking I will hear."
So when God's hearing our prayers before we spoke them, what's the reason why it seems like God's deaf?
Is it us? Do we listen when he's speaking? Do you remember when mom said something when we were younger and we just heard the things we want to hear? Maybe it's a similar thing.
Sometimes it's the way our ears aren't open for God's speaking.
Everyday many voices are surrounding us: Internet, TV, music, the daily lunacy,...
Sometimes we don't take time or we don't have enough discipline.
We should take time to spend time with God and to hear his voice!
But how's God speaking?
God has many ways to communicate with us.
Eliah (1. Kings 19) met God on the mountain Horeb not in a storm oder an earthquake, but in a silent sough. We live in a loud world and forget in some way to hear the silent sounds.
Mostly God's not shouting with a megaphone to us, but gentle and in silent sounds. God is creative. Sometimes he used thoughts to communicate with us or Bible verses or a sermon or pictures.
Take time for God. Turn off the music or go outside to a silent place. Und then be curious what God wants to say to you and what he wants to show you.
